Everyone is invited who is funky or wants to get to know it. Funk is feeling, rhythm, bass and drum power and much more. Funk wants to be lived and danced. No one will remain stiff when Mike Russell’s Funky Soul Kitchen play. Want to bet?

Mike Russell’s Funky Soul Kitchen waren an diesem Abend mehr als nur aus einem Guß. Zusammenspiel der Bandmitglieder, Rhythmus, Tempo und allerbeste Motivation und Laune leuchteten von der Bühne stärker als die Scheinwerfer. Alle vier Meister ihres Fachs.
Diesmal schlug Carly Quiroz mit seinem argentinischen Temperament feurig und mühelos die Tasten von Flügel und Keyboard. DiCarlo’s Kunst am Schlagzeug zusammen mit seinem breiten Grinsen übertrug die positive Energie auf die gesamte Band und das Publikum. Es war so, als würde er mit jedem Taktschlag seine positive Stimmung hinauspeitschen. Sir Charles Williamson war geladen mit Kraft wie ein Druckkessel, mit seinem treibenden Bass den funkigen Sound herauszuslappen, zu grooven, zu singen und zu spaßen. Und last but not least Mike Russell höchstpersönlich, der seine Gitarrensaiten funkig hart, virtuos oder sanft bediente und mit seiner charakterstischen Stimme der unnachgiebige Motivator für Funk&Groove war. Mike Russell ließ nichts aus, das Publikum mit seiner Band in den Bann zu ziehen, mitzunehmen und mitzureißen. Er tanzte sogar mit einer Zuschauerin, um sie zu motivieren, die Musik zu genießen und die Tänzer anzuspornen.
Was die Tafel im Loci Loft versprach, hielten Mike Russell’s Funky Soul Kitchen nicht, sie übertrafen alle Versprechungen.
Kurz gesagt: Ein Hammer Event in einer ausgezeichneten Location im Norden Reinickendorfs in exklusiver Lage, das gut durchdachte Konzept interessant umgesetzt, ein Supersound, die freundlichen, hilfsbereiten Mitarbeiter und ein supercooles Publikum, das die Band regelrecht feierte. Ohne Zulagen ging es nicht.

Mike Russell’s Funky Soul Kitchen were more than of a piece that evening. Interplay of the band members, rhythm, tempo and the very best motivation and mood shone from the stage stronger than the spotlights. All four masters of their trade.
This time Carly Quiroz, with his Argentine temperament, fierily and effortlessly hit the keys of the grand piano and keyboard. DiCarlo’s artistry on the drums along with his wide grin transferred the positive energy to the entire band and audience. It was as if he was whipping out his positive vibes with every beat. Sir Charles Williamson was loaded with power like a pressure vessel, slapping out the funky sound with his driving bass, grooving, singing and joking. And last but not least Mike Russell himself, who operated his guitar strings funky hard, virtuosic or soft and with his characterful voice was the relentless motivator for Funk&Groove. Mike Russell didn’t miss anything to captivate the audience with his band, to carry them along. He even danced with a audience member to motivate them to enjoy and feel free to enjoy the music and encouraging the dancers.
What the board at Loci Loft promised, Mike Russell’s Funky Soul Kitchen did not keep, they exceeded all promises.
In short: A hammer event in an excellent location in the north of Reinickendorf in an exclusive location, the well thought-out concept interestingly implemented, a super sound, the friendly, helpful staff and a super cool audience that really celebrated the band. It didn’t work without encores.

Ein neu vermähltes Paar, die Braut im langen weißen Kleid mit Schleppe, eröffneten den Tanzboden zur Quasimodo Funk Night. Herzliche Gratulation. So konnte alles bestens beginnen.

Das begeisterte Publikum bekam gestern eine Portion von allem. Mike Russell lobte die Musiker, die großartig gespielt haben, was für ein explosiver Abend.
