Wieder ein großartiger Abend mit Mike Russell’s Funky Soul Kitchen, diesmal im bekannten b-flat Berlin. Der Club war bis zum Rand gefüllt und das mit einer überwiegenden Menge junger Leute aus vielen Nationen. Spanier, Portugiesen, Russen und viele Deutsche klatschten und groovten und bedankten sich bei den Musikern, viele davon selbst welche, wie sich in Gesprächen herausstellte.
In diesem Club ist „cash only“ angesagt, weshalb etliche mangels Bargeld nicht hinein kamen. Ein junges Päarchen aus Italien fragte, ob die Band wenigstens auf spotify zu finden sei. Eine Gruppe junger Männer marschierte ab, um Geld zu holen, während ein anderer meinte „Klasse Club, nur cash, das gefällt mir!“
Die Stimmung war ausgezeichnet bis zum Ende. Es gibt keine Barrieren, wenn man von etwas begeistert ist. Musik verbindet immer. Besonders interessant war, dass viele junge Menschen, die nicht mit funky Soul aufgewachsen sind, so mitgenommen wurden und offensichtlich begeistert waren. Another great evening with Mike Russell’s Funky Soul Kitchen, this time at the well-known b-flat Berlin. The club was filled to the brim with a predominant crowd of young people from many nations. Spaniards, Portuguese, Russians and many Germans clapped and grooved and thanked the musicians, many of them themselves, as it turned out in conversations.
This club is „cash only“, which is why quite a few people didn’t get in for lack of cash. A young couple from Italy asked if the band could at least be found on spotify. A group of young men marched off to get money, while another said „Great club, cash only, I like it!“
The atmosphere was excellent until the end. There are no barriers when you are enthusiastic about something. Music always connects. It was especially interesting that many young people who didn’t grow up listening to funky soul were so taken away and obviously excited. Mike Russell’s Funky Soul Kitchen deliver and pick up. Say what? Funky Soul Kitchen!
