Morgen startet das erste Konzert von Mike Russell’s Funky Soul Kitchen bei den Orania Konzerten. Einmal monatlich von Februar bis Juli zeigt die Band ihr Können auf der Bühne der Hotellounge. Gäste sind immer herzlich willkommen.
The first concert by Mike Russell’s Funky Soul Kitchen starts tomorrow at the Orania concerts. Once a month from February to July, the band will showcase their skills on the stage of the hotel lounge. Guests are always welcome.

Ein ausverkauftes Haus im Internationalen Jazzclub A-Trane, ein erstklassiger Sound und eine großartige Band haben das Publikum begeistert. Mike Russell als Bandleader, Gitarrist und Sänger wurde mit seiner Funky Soul Kitchen, am Bass Sir Charles Williamson, die drums schlug DiCarlo und Lionel Haas spielte das Keyboard, mit großem Applaus gewürdigt.
Nächste Auftritte am 31.01.2024 im Badenscher Hof und am 03.02.2024 im Yorkschlösschen.
A sold-out house at the International Jazzclub A-Trane, a first-class sound and a great band thrilled the audience. Mike Russell as bandleader, guitarist and singer with his Funky Soul Kitchen, Sir Charles Williamson on bass, DiCarlo on drums and Lionel Haas on keyboards were met with great applause.

Das letzte Konzert des vergangenen Jahres war für den Zig Zag Jazzclub eine Herausforderung, nachdem die Tickets schneller verkauft waren als man schauen konnte. Ausverkauft und viel mehr Gäste waren auf der Warteliste als dann tatsächlich Plätze angeboten werden konnten. Es war ein berauschender Abend und Mike Russell’s Funky Soul Kitchen (Mike Russell, Sir Charles Williamson, Lionel Haas & DiCarlo) spielten mit Leidenschaft und Feuer, um diesem Silvesterabend eine zusätzliche Powernote hinzufügen.
Gastsängerin war MFA Kera und ein paar Fotos gibt es auch.

The last concert of the past year was a challenge for the Zig Zag Jazzclub after tickets were sold faster than you could look. Sold out and many more guests were on the waiting list than could actually be offered seats. It was an exhilarating evening and Mike Russell’s Funky Soul Kitchen (Mike Russell, Sir Charles Williamson, Lionel Haas & DiCarlo) played with passion and fire to add an extra power note to this New Year’s Eve. Guest vocalist was MFA Kera and there are a few photos too.

Wow, da ging der Zug ab. Das Yorkschlösschen gestern Abend war wie ein Einod in dieser Welt und Zeit. Ja es geht doch! Der Geist von Berlin der 70er/80er Jahre war zurück: Love & Happiness, was nicht nur am Ambiente, sondern vielmehr am Publikum lag. ALLES GEHT !
Eb Davis erschien erfreulicherweise als Vertreter des Blues und würzte mit seinen Songs, „die Heimat des Jazz und Blues“ in Berlin. Über die sets stieg die Partystimmung an und der Schweiß auf der Bühne.
Egal, ob Alteingessene oder absolut junge Menschen, süße Tanzpüppchen oder betagtere Personen, alle waren in einem Flow gefangen und die letzten erhoben sich von den äußeren Tischen um zu tanzen und groovten im Rhythmus. Das hat die Band gebraucht! Das Yorkschlösschen ebenfalls und erst recht die Zuhörer. Ja Mike Russell’s Funky Soul Kitchen sind nicht nur gut, sie reißen jedes Publikum mit. Marion und Alex aus Paris waren zu Besuch in Berlin und blieben bis zum Schluß. Eine Gruppe Studenten aus Hamburg wollten zu einer Techno Party, aber sie waren immer noch da und erst nach dem dritten set zogen sie weiter. Eine andere reizende junge Frau sagte mir, dass das Yorkschlösschen heute besonders bebt und immer fragte man, was ist das für eine Band?! Es war rappelvoll und schwer durchzukommen. Dass überhaupt einigermaßene Aufnahmen entstanden sind, war Glücksache.
Also die gute Nachricht Mike Russell’s Funky Soul Kitchen sind am 1.12.2023 wieder da! Im einmaligen Yorkschlösschen.

Wow, that’s where the train left. The Yorkschlösschen last night was like a one-off in this world and time. Yes, it does work! The spirit of Berlin of the 70s/80s was back, Love&Happiness, which was not only due to the ambience, but also to the audience. EVERYTHING GOES!
Eb Davis happily appeared as a representative of the blues and spiced up „the home of jazz and blues“ in Berlin with his songs. The party atmosphere and the sweat on stage increased over the sets.
Whether old-timers or absolutely young people, cute dancing dolls or older people, everyone was caught up in the flow and the last ones got up from the outside tables to dance and groove to the rhythm. That’s what the band needed! So did the Yorkschlösschen and even more so the audience. Yes, Mike Russell’s Funky Soul Kitchen aren’t just good, they sweep every audience away. Marion and Alex from Paris were visiting Berlin and stayed until the end. A group of students from Hamburg wanted to go to a techno party, but they were still there and only moved on after the third set. Another lovely young woman told me that the Yorkschlösschen was shaking today and people were always asking what kind of band it was! It was packed and difficult to get through. It was a matter of luck that any decent recordings were made.
So the good news is that Mike Russell’s Funky Soul Kitchen will be back on 1.12.2023! In the unique Yorkschlösschen.
